The gorges up 25 m. high are a canyon excavated by water into the volcanic rock 6km long. Very interesting to visit the prismatic, pentagonal and hexagonal structures where the fast cooling of the lava, dating from 8.000 years ago, that was arrived in Giardini Naxos area.
This has created the structure with a configuration called “catasta”, “arpa” and “canne d’organo”. This excursion includes the entrance on the water to look the magic of basalt columns, the gorges, the little gorges, the “Gurne” and waterfalls and visit of “Cuba Bizantina”.
