Pyroclastic Flow on Mount Etna – June 2, 2025

This morning at 11:30 AM, during an eruptive activity, a modest collapse occurred that generated a pyroclastic flow in a desert area, which was already restricted for safety reasons.

The pyroclastic flow, absolutely spectacular and interesting from a volcanological point of view, was distinguished by how it was produced and how it self-fed. The contact with snow covered by ash amplified the spectacular nature and power of the phenomenon, creating a scenario of extraordinary natural beauty on Mount Etna.
